Police Break Up Illegal Car Rally, Issue 31 Summonses, Make Arrest On Long Island

A large-scale vehicle rally led to an arrest and multiple summonses on Long Island after police discovered the disturbance.

Nassau County Police said officers from the Third Precinct, on routine patrol around 9:35 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, found what appeared to be an illegal vehicle rally and possible street takeover in East Garden City, near 711 Stewart Ave. 

Additional units, including the Bureau of Special Operations, Aviation Unit, Criminal Intelligence Rapid Response Team (CIRRT), and Emergency Service Unit, were called to assist.

Authorities issued 31 summonses, impounded two vehicles, and made one arrest. 

Police said Daniel Tiburcio, age 25, of Wantagh, was taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument and various vehicle and traffic law violations.

Tiburcio was scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday, Nov. 17, at First District Court in Hempstead.
